Staff Spotlight ~ Kaylyn Fox
In this month’s Staff Spotlight, we’re featuring Kaylyn Fox, the dynamic 8th-grade math teacher at Fortuna Middle School who also serves as the ASB advisor. Known for her strong connections with students and families, Kaylyn has a natural talent for building relationships and always goes the extra mile to support her school community. Her principal describes her as someone who is always willing to lend a hand wherever needed—a true team player.
With 13 years in education and now in her third year at Fortuna Elementary School District, Kaylyn brings an inspiring passion for math to her classroom. She’s dedicated to making math accessible and enjoyable, and she finds immense joy in those “lightbulb” moments when students finally grasp a challenging concept. Her enthusiasm for the subject shines through, and she takes pride in helping students overcome their fears and frustrations with math.
Kaylyn grew up in Humboldt County and attended Worthington Elementary, where she was part of the last fifth-grade class before the school closed. Outside the classroom, she’s known for her deep commitment to her students and ability to create a positive learning environment.
Thank you, Kaylyn, for your dedication and passion! We’re so lucky to have you at Fortuna Middle School!
