Weather Alert: Possible FESD School Closures and Transportation Impacts

Posted Date: 11/19/24 (2:54 PM)

Dear Fortuna Elementary School District Families,

The incoming storm may bring significant flooding and power outages that could impact our ability to safely open schools tomorrow. If power is lost, we will not be able to heat classrooms or provide meals, making closure necessary.

Even if our schools remain open, flooding may affect some bus stops, potentially causing delays or transportation changes. We encourage families to plan accordingly.

Your safety is our top priority, so we ask that you have a plan for potential school closure and transportation disruptions. We will share the final decision regarding school closure by 6:30 a.m. tomorrow via Parent Square.

Thank you for your understanding and flexibility as we work through these challenges. Please stay safe and stay tuned. We appreciate your continued support.

Sincerely,
Amy Betts
FESD Superintendent
