This month’s spotlight shines on Tim Langford, an energetic 7th-grade Physical Education teacher at Fortuna Middle School. Tim began teaching at Toddy Thomas Middle School in 2013, instructing both 7th and 8th graders in PE after completing his student teaching at Eureka High School. When Toddy consolidated, he continued focusing on 7th-grade PE at Fortuna Middle.

Students admire Mr. Langford for jumping right into workouts alongside them and playing the games he teaches. He believes in leading by example, showing the importance of health and fitness through participation rather than just demonstration. His passion for helping students learn to stay active and make healthy choices is evident in every class.

A fun fact about Mr. Langford is that he previously trained and competed in Mixed Martial Arts—Muay Thai, Jiu Jitsu, Boxing, and Wrestling. This background adds excitement and expertise to his teaching, motivating students to stay committed to their physical well-being.
