Staff Spotlight ~ Vera Daigle

Staff Spotlight: Vera Daigle
This month, we are thrilled to highlight Vera Daigle, a true star of Linell K. Walker Elementary School and a beloved member of the Fortuna Elementary School District for an incredible 27 years. Known for her constant movement, dedication, and helpful spirit, Vera is described by her principal, Helen Nelson, as “the backbone of the resource program and a true Walker Star.”
Vera has spent her entire career at Walker (formerly South Fortuna Elementary), serving as a Resource Aide. Over the years, she has worked with many wonderful teachers and currently supports students alongside Laura Shaver and River Taylor. Vera never knows a minute of downtime—she is always on the go, supporting her colleagues and doing whatever it takes to help students succeed.
What Vera loves most about her job is figuring out how each student learns.
“Every child is different, and I work with students who have challenges to learning. I enjoy trying to find what will help each student. Each one learns differently, and I like to discover what works for them.”
Outside of school, Vera enjoys spending her time doing puzzles and quilting. But make no mistake—she truly loves to work and says she wants to continue working at Walker “for as long as I can.”
Her favorite thing about Walker Elementary is the strong sense of school spirit and staff camaraderie. She loves the fun extras like dress-up days and the deep bonds that exist between staff members.
Vera’s dedication, experience, and heart for students make her an irreplaceable part of the Walker Elementary family. Thank you, Vera, for your many years of service and for continuing to make a lasting impact on everyone around you! 💛
