Staff Spotlight ~ Francisco Rios

We would like to introduce Francisco Rios, a valued Monitor and EXCEL Aide at Toddy Thomas Middle School. In just two years with the district, Francisco has earned a reputation as someone who connects easily with students and brings positive energy to every part of the school day.
Principal Kent Chapman shares, “Francisco connects well with students. He is always willing to help out wherever needed and always has a smile and a positive attitude.” Others echo the same sentiment, noting that he can often be found interacting with students on the playground, and even jumping in to play soccer with them. The students absolutely love him.
Francisco works primarily with 5th and 6th-grade students, and also supports 7th and 8th-grade students during the EXCEL after-school program. What he enjoys most is the chance to brighten a student’s day.
He says, “My favorite thing is when I’m able to make a kid’s day better and that lots of the time I can just be a chill guy.” His calm and approachable demeanor helps students feel comfortable, supported, and seen.
A fun fact about Francisco is that he used to play the clarinet, and he enjoys drinking Celsius when he needs a boost.
Francisco’s positivity, willingness to help, and natural rapport with students make him a standout member of the Toddy Thomas team. We are grateful for all he brings to our school community!
