Staff Spotlight ~ Jennifer Grimmett
This trimester, we are proud to feature Jennifer Grimmett, a 2nd Grade Teacher at Norman G. Ambrosini Elementary. Jennifer grew up in Eureka and returned to the area in 2004, which is when she first started subbing at Ambrosini. She earned her teaching credential from California State University, Long Beach, and has since held a variety of roles across grades K–8, including serving as a science teacher and an intervention specialist.
Her Principal, Angela Schuetzle, notes that Jennifer’s impact is felt throughout her classroom, stating: "Jennifer not only focuses on the academic but also the social-emotional needs of her students. She finds ways to meet each student where they are and creates a safe and welcoming environment for her students."
What Jennifer likes best about being a teacher is acting as a "learning coach" and watching her students grow in confidence. She enjoys the creativity of the profession and seeing the joy on her students’ faces when a challenging concept finally clicks.
When she isn't in the classroom, Jennifer enjoys trail running and spending time outdoors. She has even climbed mountains such as Lassen and Mount Whitney, and she spends her summers camping and hiking in the Sierra Nevada mountains with her husband and three daughters. We are so fortunate to have Jennifer's experience and dedication at Ambrosini Elementary. Thank you, Jennifer, for everything you do for our students and school community!
