Staff Spotlight ~ Angel Ornelas

We would like to introduce Angel Ornelas, who serves our district as an ELD Aide at Toddy Thomas Middle School and a Monitor at Fortuna Middle School, as one of our Spotlight Employees. Angel joined our district a year ago and has quickly become an active part of the school community, also serving as a track coach and assisting with the Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELOP).
His Principal, Kent Chapman, highlights the calm and supportive presence Angel brings to the classroom, stating, "Angel is very patient with students who are working on difficult tasks. He has a great rapport with the students, is very professional, and does whatever is needed to help kids succeed."
What Angel likes best about his work is helping students learn and providing them with a safe, encouraging environment. His dedication to student growth extends to the athletic field, where he currently coaches both a local soccer team and the school’s track team.
A fun fact about Angel is that he played semi-pro soccer in Riverside County! When the weather allows, he still enjoys playing soccer, running, and hiking. We are lucky to have Angel’s energy and commitment to our students across multiple school sites. Thank you, Angel, for all you do for our students and our school community!
